Expomanga 2012

From May 11th to 13th 2012 was held Expomanga 2012 in Madrid (Spain).

We had a booth as CYCLIC★REDUNDANCY with the presence of Kenneos, AnaKris, Ninamo and Lisco. Lisco is not a regular member of the circle but he’s a talented artist with whom we often share booths.

Hisagigin has already organized several projects for Japanese voice drama CDs for the Umineko no naku koro ni and Higurashi no naku koro ni series. These CDs contain not only the voice drama tracks themselves but also a collection of illustrations drawn by multiple artists.

Last volumes were released recently in the Japanese event 07th Expansion Party. Several artists from our circle took part in these last issues.

Ninamo and Aiwa collaborated each one with an illustration for the Umineko no naku koro ni’s last volume. Theme was free.

Aiwa, Kenenos and AnaKris collaborated each one with an illustration for the theme “game penalty” that can be found in the Higurashi no naku koro ni’s last volume. Aiwa’s drawing was also printed as an inner cover for the DVD case.

C★R’s online store OPENS!

CYCLIC★REDUNDANCY’s online store opens its doors! From now on you can buy all our products in the store.

We launched the store using the online platform eCrater. This way is easier to buy than emailing us with a form. You can add multiple items in the cart and combine shipping depending of their weight. You can buy several things for the same shipping costs!

For now you can find a little of everything:

  • Badges
  • Books
  • Prints
  • Stickers
  • Straps


These are items that we usually sell at conventions. There are original material and fanart. Navigate through the “Categories” in the top right of the main menu.

Daily Deviations

The Daily Deviation is a daily feature chosen from the galleries on deviantART. A small assortment of submissions are chosen each day by a select group of staff/volunteer members who wish to showcase an image which they found impressive or otherwise interesting enough to deserve being brought to the attention of the community-at-large. This is how dA itself defines a DD.

Nevee was the last member of C★R to get a Daily Deviation of one of her works submited to dA. It happened a few days ago. Now, all the members have at least one of these particular distintions.

We all are old members of deviantART and we ought a lot to this international community. We are proud of these mentions. This is a resume of all our works which got a DD:

Hisagigin has already organized several projects for Japanese voice drama CDs for the Umineko no naku koro ni series. These CDs contain not only the voice drama tracks themselves but also a collection of illustrations drawn by multiple artists.

Last volume was released yesterday in the Japanese event GATE:the brigade. Several artists from our circle took part in this last issue. Aiwa, AnaKris and Nevee collaborated each one with an illustration for the theme kemonomimi (‘animal ears’ fetish) that can be found inside the CD, and Ninamo collaborated with an illustration for the back jacket of DVD case.

Kuro-e – exhibition at Expotaku Sabadell

From February the 10th and until the 12th the manganime convention Expotaku Sabadell 2012 (Barcelona, Spain) was held and along with it an exhibition of almost half of the full color illustrations that appear in our released art book Kuro-e.

Here there is a photo summary offered by Koi-Nya in their coverage of the event (Spanish only).



The Kuro-e exhibition will be on tour with Expotaku in all its editions throughout this year.

Kuro-e artbook orders are open! A special selection of 20 skilled Spanish artists, most of them still undiscovered, made contributions to the main theme of this wonderful recopilation, the ‘night’. There are 27 different color illustrations (around 50% of them inedit!), more than 20 sketches and B&W artworks, and interviews together with all the artists’ answer to questions about their love for drawing and how they work.

XVII Salón del Manga de Barcelona (photos and review)

This was our C★R‘s booth in the last XVII Salón del Manga de Barcelona. More info about the items we sold in this entry.

We are very grateful much to all the people who came to meet us. Sales were better than expected and many of the items were sold out. There are no more copies left of:

Although we are currently working in the Japanese editions for the first two items for a Japanese store, there won’t be more copies sold online or in conventions by ourselves. Thank you very much for making this possible!

This was the first time all the members of the circle were together in the same booth. It also was the first time many of us met each other IRL (we are from different regions of Spain: Córdoba, Murcia and Barcelona). It was an unforgettable experience and we enjoyed it very much. Definitely, this will not be the last time!

We had two especially remarkable experiences during the con. The first one was that we were interviewed and recorded by the Japanese Comic Market staff. They took so many items from our booth that may will be in an exposition in the next Comiket edition. And the second one was that we met Toranoana‘s president and we exchange our business cards. He bought a lot of items from us and talked a bit with us. It’s still amazing that such important people were in the Salón del Manga de Barcelona and a big surprise for us! They were very kind with us! Thank you very much!!
