The Japanese online community for artists pixiv in collaboration with Enterbrain publish a magazine called Quarterly Pixiv. For each issue are organized various art competitions on different topics. The selected works are printed in the magazine.
Aiwa’s drawing was selected in the category of Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai (Ano Hana for short) at Quarterly Pixiv Vol.06, with art based on this anime series.
On the other side, Kenneos’ drawing was selected in the category of Cheerful JAPAN! x Hatsune Miku at Quarterly Pixiv Vol.08. This was a contest organized by Good Smile Company as a campaign to raise funds to help Japan after the devastation of the earthquake last year.
Both magazines are for sale at Japanese stores and through online stores right now.
From March 31th to April 1st 2012 was held the II Salón del Manga de Alicante, a Spanish manganime convention. As we told in our previous entry, Kenneos was the illustrator for the official poster, but her participation did not stay here.
Kenneos has collaborated with the well-known international entertainment retail chain FNAC, with an exclusive promotional ilustration. It was decorating FNAC’s booth and was given as postcards to attendants. Also she were there signing and she imparted a drawing workshop.
There were also a small expo featuring Kenneos drawings and Kuro-e art book at II Salón del Manga de Alicante.
Do you know what a gachapon is? They are capsule toys that can be purchased randomly from a gacha machine. Several shops around Japan have them out in front of their doors, and Comic Toranoana is not an exception.
We have recently made three sets of can badges to be sold in these kind of machines at Comic Toranoana stores. Vocaloid set was done by Ninamo (9 badges), Touhou Project ~ Ten Desires set by Aiwa (8 badges) and Persona4 set by Nevee (9 badges). All of them have one secret badge you will have to find out by yourself.
Our Vocaloid, Touhou Project and Persona4 gachapon could be found at Akiharabara B and Ikebukuro branches at present. Gachapon is on a rotation system so our badges might not be available all the time.
These are the promotional posters:
But if you are not from Japan or do not have the chance to go pick them by yourself, you can also purchase them at our online store:
You can purchase them individually or buy the whole set at once (you will only get the secret badge by this last way).
Hope you like them!
